Aluminum Castings Built for Electrical and Utility Infrastructure

BQC Foundry casts aluminum enclosures, transformer housings, switchgear parts, connectors, and electrical terminals for power generation, transmission, and distribution.

BQC Foundry casts aluminum components that hold corrosion resistance, thermal stability, and dimensional accuracy in high-voltage environments and outdoor conditions. MAGMASoft simulation, controlled cooling and heat treating, and real-time pour monitoring build those properties into the casting itself.

Six Controls Behind an Electrical or Utility Casting
  • Corrosion Resistance: Aluminum castings hold up in high-voltage environments and outdoor conditions.
  • Thermal Stability: Housings, heat sinks, and connector bases are optimized for electrical isolation, thermal conductivity, and structural stability.
  • Minimal Porosity: Controlled cooling and heat treating minimize internal stresses and porosity, and the sand casting process yields a uniform grain structure.
  • Process Control: Real-time monitoring of pouring speed, temperature, and pressure keeps defect rates low and properties consistent.
  • Verified Integrity: Liquic penetrant examination and X-ray inspection are available to confirm that mechanical and electrical properties meet design specifications.
  • Dimensional Accuracy: Dimensional inspection and performance testing confirm reliability in the field.

Programs move from prototype to production inside the same foundry. BQC Foundry runs 3D printing for rapid prototyping alongside sand casting for high-volume production, and works directly with customer design teams to tailor a casting to the application. ISO 9001:2015 certified, averaging under 2 percent molding scrap, with Boose family aluminum casting heritage dating to 1933.
